The Army Academy is the branch school of the Finnish Army and the largest military school in Finland. The activities of the Army Academy address the challenges of society and the security environment. Its main tasks are the training of paid personnel and conscripts, as well as the research, development and readiness tasks of the Army. The Army Academy provides capabilities to the Defense Forces, especially the Army, and maintains continuous military readiness. The Army Academy has offices in five different locations, with part of the headquarters and training center located in Lappeenranta.
The goals of Army Academy as a Greenreality partner are closely related to the Army Academy’s environmental and climate program, and the goals have been formulated using it. The first set goal is to reduce business travel, for example, by favoring remote connections and improving remote working opportunities, as well as developing remote participation opportunities for seminars and meetings. The second goal is to reduce food waste in cooperation with the food service partner. The third goal defined at the Army Academy is to improve energy efficiency and reduce electricity consumption by installing LED lights and motion sensors in buildings, as well as installing missing radiator thermostats together with partners.
