The Rauha hybrid power plant runs on renewable energy

The heating plant on Vipelentie, in the Rauha area, is capable of heating 60 holiday homes. The heating energy is mostly generated with heating pumps and solar collectors. With the heating pumps, the plant generates heat with a power of 350 kW, using the waters of Lake Saimaa. A total of 6.4 kilometres of heat-collection pipes have been laid in nearby waters. The pumps are supplied with environmentally certified EKOenergy by Lappeenrannan Energia Oy.

80% of the plant’s total heating energy production is based on renewable energy sources.

In addition to the heating pumps, the plant also generates heat with solar collectors. A total of 40 m2 of solar thermal collectors have been installed on the roof and walls of the plant. 80% of the plant’s total heating energy production is based on renewable energy sources. The plant also has a natural gas boiler for reserve and peak power generation.

The Rauha hybrid power plant, completed for the Holiday Housing Fair 2012, is one of the first of its kind in Finland. The plant was constructed in partnership with Lappeenrannan Energia Oy and One1 Oy.
