Founded in 2019, the company is involved in pioneering projects to develop the recycling of problem plastics, create solutions for the production of aviation and marine fuels from waste and enable the use of small nuclear power plants in industrial process energy production and industrial process development.

In South Karelia, the company focuses on the development of industrial applications for small nuclear power plants and small nuclear power plant business with the aim of achieving global leadership in the field. To this end, the parent company Magnus Associates Oy has established a separate company, Industrial Power Units IPU Oy, in Skinnarila, on the campus of LUT University. Its purpose is, among other things, to implement nuclear units based on high-temperature technology in the region together with its international partners. IPU is an enabler of new businesses for companies in South Karelia. The strategy of IPU creates positive impacts for the municipalities and region.
