Founded in 1996, this IT software and project company has been developing its ERP system for electricity trading since 2008. According to the Managing Director of Tietokoura Ltd, Jorma Laukkanen, large-scale development began around five years ago, which can be seen in the company’s net sales.
– Our annual sales have increased on average by 25% for the last five years, and currently the electricity trading solutions account for more than half of our net sales.
The ERP system for electricity trading, 'Enerity Electricity Trade', is a solution for electricity pricing, portfolio management and risk management.
– Currently in Finland, Enerity is used by 14 companies, whose total sales account for more than 40% of the electricity sold in Finland by electricity traders, says Laukkanen.
The solution comprises several products, which customers utilise according to their needs. It also scales and develops according to the customer’s business operations. Laukkanen says that the solution brings many benefits to electricity traders.
- Enerity improves the profitability of the operations and reduces the risks of electricity trading for the customers. Our customers’ priority is to price products correctly and competitively. The detailed sales forecasts produced by Enerity are important in electricity procurement so that profitability can be improved. The system’s automated customer service processes also create new services for electricity traders, enabling them to serve larger amounts of customers.
The next step for Finland’s market leader in ERP solutions for electricity trading is to expand its operations outside of Finland – there are approximately 70 electricity traders in Finland, and not all of them are actively selling electricity outside their own network. Our domestic customer segment is limited, so we will be aiming for the markets of other Nordic countries next. Especially the electricity trading scene in Sweden has many similarities with that of Finland’s. Our expectations are high. We at Tietokoura strongly believe that we also can be successful outside of Finland, Laukkanen concludes.
Founded in 1996, Tietokoura Oy’s main customers include companies in the energy and water management industry as well as clients who need web-based solutions in their operations.
