The power range of permanent magnet machines, frequency converters, and high-speed motors based on massive rotor technology is 200 kW – 12 MW. The installed base has a capacity of over 24 GW and consists of environmentally friendly megawatt-class electric drive technology that the company has supplied to leading energy pioneers worldwide.
The Switch’s factories in Finland are located in Lappeenranta and Vaasa. The Lappeenranta factory is one of the world’s largest testing facilities for renewable energy power converters and permanent magnet generators, with a testing capacity of up to 18 MW. Additionally, the company has operations in China and Norway.
The Japanese BEMAC Corporation acquired The Switch in 2024, providing the company with opportunities for continuous product development and innovation. BEMAC is one of Japan’s largest suppliers of electrical systems for shipbuilding.
THE SWITCH DESIGNS AND MANUFACTURES PRODUCTS IN LAPPEENRANTA FOR ALL OF THE COMPANY’S MAIN BUSINESS SECTORS. THE COMPANY’S HEADQUARTERS ARE LOCATED IN HELSINKI, AND ITS FINNISH PRODUCTION FACILITIES ARE IN LAPPEENRANTA AND VAASA. APPROXIMATELY 98 % OF THE COMPANY’S PRODUCTION IS EXPORTED.
