Hotel Rakuuna is a unique hotel located in Rakuunamäki, Lappeenranta’s historic centre. Only a short walk away, you’ll find the Lappeenranta fortress, the harbour, and the Lakeside Route (a nature trail that runs along the shore of Lake Saimaa). Rakuunamäki dates back to the 1890s, when the area was home to Lappeenranta’s dragoon regiment. All of the buildings have now been repurposed – the barracks, hospital, cannon storeroom, stables, turnip warehouse and the living quarters of officers, non-commissioned officers and servicemen.
