Lehmus Roastery – A Responsible Micro-Roastery
Lehmus Roastery is a micro-roastery based in Lappeenranta, roasting coffee on the shores of Lake Saimaa in a historic warehouse building since 2016. Roastery’s all coffees are produced responsibly, ensuring first-class taste experience.

From words to action
Sustainability has been a core part of the Lehmus Roastery’s operations since the beginning, and it hasn’t been just talk, but real actions. Lehmus Roastery aims primarily to reduce the emissions from the production and compensate those that are hard to eliminate.
Lehmus Roastery has improved gas usage efficiency over the years, for example by investing into a new, more efficient roaster. Thanks to this development and overall increased roasting volumes, the gas consumption has decreased by impressive 75% per one roasted kilogram of coffee from 2018 to 2021! Switching to lighter, pre-printed tea boxes reduced the cardboard use by 58% in autumn 2021. Many other impactful measures have also been implemented, which are detailed on their website.
The roastery’s carbon footprint is being monitored annually. This way the best emission reduction opportunities are identified and truly effective actions to reduce them are selected. In recognition of its ambitious climate work, the City of Lappeenranta has awarded Lehmus Roastery the Climate Partner label.
