Hotelli-ravintola Kägöne

Hotel-restaurant Kägöne

Our Greenreality-partner hotel-restaurant Kägöne is a rest stop, located along highway 6 in Parikkala.

The hotel and restaurant are housed in Karelian-styled log castle built in late 1980s, on the shore of a small pond. The family-run business focuses on warm hospitality, homemade baked goods, tasty home-style meals and accommodation tailored for the travelers’ needs.

At Kägöne, environmental friendliness is considered carefully and it is considered in company’s operations. The restaurant uses as much of locally produced food as possible, like vegetables, eggs and meat. Water consumption is reduced by monitoring usage and through mindful purchasing and staff training.

Our commitment

As a Greenreality partner, Kägöne is committed to improving energy efficiency by installing air-source heat pumps and LED lighting. The villas by Lake Arkusjärvi are heated with air-source heat pumps, while the hotel-restaurant is heated fossil-free with wood pellets. Kägöne is also committed to calculating its carbon footprint through emissions accounting. Waste is sorted at the hotel-restaurant, and no plastic disposable products are used. Special attention is also paid to the dosing of cleaning agents.
